First Lego Challenge
We are empowering young lives and changing the future through STEM and Robotics

What is FLL Challenge & Tech Challenge?

Friendly competition is at the heart of Challenge, as teams of students ages 9-16* engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering - building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game.

FLC Areas of Youth and Teen Development
Science
Gain a broader understanding of the technology and how it can be use to expand our capabilities in the world.
Engineering
Combine creativity with innovative thinking to craft and development robust robotic designs for any challenge throw your way.
Robotics
Understand how we can use robots to perfrom human like functions and compete in a great environment to accomplish our team goals.
3-D Printing & CAD
Learn how to use industry standard design software to build any project. Core CAD skills are key to unlocking your full potential as a innovative developer.
Programming
Java is our bread and butter! Expand the capabilites of your mind as we learn to create code that will be used to operate our robot and other development projects.
Character Development
Developing you as a youth is key to enstill the right outlook on choices and life. First Robotics creates an environment of growth for individuals and teams as we bond and learn what our hidden talens are.

Creating Diversity in the STEM & Robotics Fields
The job search website Zippia estimates only 4.4% of people in the field of robotics are Black or African American and only 8.5% are women. The Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center is working to change that through their robotics team — the “GeodeBots.”
